Future Forum members have a special opportunity to hear Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi speak at the LBJ Library on Thursday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. Library Director Betty Sue Flowers will moderate a discussion with Dr. Ebadi, as well as U.T. professors Kamran Aghaie, Clement Henry, Faegheh Shirazi, and Denise Spellberg.

A courageous and accomplished civil rights activist and lecturer in law at the University of Tehran, Shirin Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003 for her pioneering efforts to advance democracy and human rights - especially the rights of women and children - in post-revolutionary Iran.

This is one of a number of free events during Dr. Ebadi's residency at the University of Texas, including a public lecture, conversations with interested students, faculty, and community organizations, and panel discussions.
