Come help us kick off another exciting season at the Future Forum with an Ice Cream Social and Movie Party. We will be cooling off with some ice cream first at the Overlook near the LBJ Library and Museum and then enjoying a fantastic movie in the Brown Room.

We will be watching The Last Days of the San Jose. Hotel San Jose is Austin's urban, bungalow-style hotel located on South Congress. Filmmaker/owner Liz Lambert will be in attendance and will speak to us afterwards.

Come get reacquainted with fellow Future Forum members, learn about what we are planning for this season and renew your membership. Or, bring a new friend who might be interested in joining. If you are not yet a member and are interested in learning more about the Future Forum, and what we have planned this season, please come join us at the Ice Cream Social and Movie Party. We will have information and sign-up forms. See you there!

For More Information of the Film, see below: 'Big cattleman is trying to run the little cattleman out. I'm going with the little cattleman.'-Gerry Van King, Room No. 14 The San Jose Motel was once a charming family motor court in one of Texas' great cities. It is now one of the last residential hotels on Austin's strip, a haven for the down, out, recovering and most wanted.

The Last Days of the San Jose chronicles the struggle of new owner Liz Lambert to transform the San Jose into a stylish boutique hotel. But as Lambert attempts to close its doors, she becomes more entrenched and involved with its residents, eventually coming to realize that what goes on behind the walls of a seedy cash-only motel is often not what we'd think.
