The State of Austin Film

Come join us for a fun evening to learn about "The State of Austin Film" at our last big event of the 2003-2004 season. The event will be a joint event with the KLRU Associate Producers Circle and will be held at Austin Studios, home of the Austin Film Society and of many wonderful local productions. Our moderator will be Evan Smith - Editor of Texas Monthly.

Our panelists include Suzanne Quinn - head of Austin Studios, Louis Black - Editor, Austin Chronicle and SXSW Festival Director, Tom Copeland - Director, Texas Film Commission, Office of the Governor, Carolyn Pfieffer, President and CEO of Burnt Orange Productions, Tim McCanlies - Writer/Director ("Secondhand Lions," "Dancer, Texas Pop. 81") and Gary Bond - Director, Austin Film Office.

Come join us as we discuss the state of Austin Film - what is currrently going on, where are we and where are we headed, how is the growing film industry in Austin affecting Austin, and how can we get involved. After the panel discussion and Q & A, we will have drinks and appetizers out on the deck by the AFS Screening Room. We will hope you will join us for this fun evening.

Please either RSVP here or on the Evite. Directions to Austin Studios: Take the Cameron Road/51st Street exit off of I-35. Take a right at 51st Street and go a little over a mile. After going through the light at Berkman, Austin Studios will be on your right.

Do not enter at the first entrance. Enter at the second entrance marked by the "National Guard Armory" sign and enter through the first gate. There will be signs directing you.
