Explore Austin
A native of Austin, Todd is the President and CEO of Explore Austin, a local nonprofit who teaches leadership to inner-city youth through a combination of mentoring and outdoor adventure. To date, Explore Austin has provided over 52,000 hours of mentoring, 192 Saturday Excursions, and 22 weeks of Summer Wilderness Trips to its Explorers. Prior to his role at Explore Austin, Todd worked in the commercial construction and insurance industries, and was Chief of Staff at Strategic Forecasting, Inc. (Stratfor). From 2002 - 2008, he served as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps where he completed two combat tours in Iraq, most recently as an advisor to the Iraqi Army.
Todd enjoys running, competing in triathlons, and any other outdoor activity. He has a personal commitment to the community's youth and has coached little league baseball and Pop-Warner football for several years. Having attended several camps as a child, Todd joined Explore in an effort to ensure that all children have the opportunity to experience first-hand all that the outdoors has to offer; regardless of their social, racial, or economic status. In addition to the Future Forum Board of Directors, Todd serves on the Board of Directors of Trinity Episcopal School, the Executive Committee of the Seton Forum, and is a member of the Greenlights for Non-Profit Success 501 Council. He was a 2011 Austin Under 40 finalist, and is an Outward Bound instructor and NOLS graduate.
He is married to Mari Allan Hanna and has two sons, Dillon and Andrew.
