Future Forum Newsletter
April 2007
Dear Catherine,

You know what they say about April Showers (we certainly had lots of March showers). If you are like us, you are getting ready to frolic in lots of May flowers soon. But, first, we have a few more Future Forum events.

Come watch a film on Sarge Shriver or join the Film Cluster for a film and fun discussion. Plus, we will have some opportunities for members to attend tapings of Texas Monthly Talks, so keep your eyes and mailboxes open for more information.

Plus, with the advent of Spring, we are cleaning the cobwebs out of our heads and doing some Spring cleaning (also known as planning and brainstorming). We are working on ways to improve the Future Forum, so if you have any ideas to share, please let us know. You can email us at catherine@lbjlibrary.net.

Coming in May, a debate between Christopher Hitchens and Marvin Olasky, plus other great events still brewing.

There are lots of good events coming up, so get ready for a great Spring.

April's Doers and Builders - Young Men's Business League

The Future Forum serves as a nexus for Austin's leaders. Our members are actively engaged in many organizations. We encourage you to find out more about these Doers and Builders Organizations on our website.

Founded in 1913, The Young Men's Business League owns and operates the Austin Sunshine Camps. The Austin Sunshine Camps offer a week-long summer camp experience to at risk area youth who would not otherwise have this opportunity. We are volunteer-driven, depending on the energy and talents of the YMBL for fundraising, facilities development, and board governance. We invite you to join us by contributing to our proven programs for youths who are the future of our community.

On March 16, Marybeth Peters and Chris Castle entertained and educated Future Forum members with a SXSX-inspired discussion of copyright and entertainment. Ms. Peters is the U.S. Register of Copyrights and Mr. Castle is an entertainment lawyer based in LA. The Austin Music Foundation co-sponsored this event.
